Air Affairs Australia is an Air Operations and Engineering based company. Established in 1995 and 100% Australian owned.
They own and operate a fleet of special mission Learjet and Kingair aircraft, providing specialised air training support services to Defence. The aircraft are available for other special mission’s roles.
AAA maintains an extensive manufacturing and engineering facility, providing a complete design through to manufacture and certification capability and are the OEM for several products.
This facility currently supports the manufacture and support for the MTR-101 Target Towing Reeling Machine, AIRPOD 101 Utility Airborne Pod system and an array of airborne tow / drone target systems.

Aerospace Training Services
Aerospace Training Service (ATS) is a Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) Maintenance Training Organisation (MTO) and a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) delivering a range of aircraft maintenance engineering courses from the National Aeroskills Training Package. ATS also provides CASA aircraft specific types courses from GA aircraft, such as the Learjet 35/36, to RPT aircraft such as the Boeing 717 and Airbus A320. In addition to this training, ATS is a NSW Smart and Skilled Apprenticeship Training Provider, currently training apprentices across the state.
ATS learners have a wide range of delivery mode choices including face-to-face (F2F) classroom, structured online (real-time webinars), and self-study options. This delivery range allows ATS to customise theory and practical training and assessment to suit each individual client.
We are a longstanding provider of military aircraft sustainment services to the ADF across a range of platforms.
Total in-country air combat capability sustainment
We currently provide integrated through life support for the Hawk 127 Lead-In Fighter fleet; structural fatigue and corrosion monitoring for the Joint Strike Fighter, Hornet and Hawk fleets; and software design, development and through life support for the Classic and Super Hornet mission systems. Turn-key rotary wing support We currently provide deeper maintenance and upgrades for the Seahawk, Black Hawk fleets. Deeper maintenance, through life support and fleet management of large military aircraft.
A long-term training solutions provider to the ADF and other defence forces, we provide innovative:
- Rotary wing, fixed wing and advanced military flight training;
- Aviation technical training; and
- Advanced flight training simulation and test systems design and support.

Global Defence Solutions (GDS) is a 100% Australian Owned company with headquarters in South Nowra, NSW. GDS supplies a range of deployable infrastructure to the Australian Defence Forces, including catering, medical, sanitation, accommodation and command posts, and deployable air-conditioners. Our deployable capabilities incorporate both hard and soft shelters and every solution is bespoke to meet the customer’s specific requirements. GDS has a fully equipped repair and overhaul facility in house, and we also provide on-site maintenance as required. We also provide training in house and on site to ensure our customers get full ROI from their equipment.

Partech Systems is an Australian leader in the provision of avionics test and repair solutions for the most complex aviation platforms. Partech designs and manufactures automatic test system (ATS) test program sets (TPS) and special to type test equipment (STTE) required to test, repair and qualify avionics components for flight. Partech is a 100% Australian owned ISO9001-2105 and DASR 145 accredited company that has nearly two decades of experience across the most advanced aerospace technologies. Partech’s team has worked on key components of the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) aircraft and continues to support the MRH-90 aircraft for Airbus Helicopters. With the acquisition of a Lockheed Martin LM-STAR® automated test system Partech operates a Maintenance Repair Overhaul (MRO) facility for important ADF platforms across air, sea and land. Joint Adversarial Training and Testing Services
Raytheon Australia will deliver Joint Adversarial Training and Testing Services (JATTS) to the Australian Defence Force (ADF) for a period of eight years. The JATTS program supports ADF exercises with ‘enemy’ airborne force aircraft, aerial targets, and electronic warfare capabilities across a range of ADF platforms including:
- The Air Force‘s Joint Strike Fighter, Super Hornet, Growler, Wedgetail airborne early warning and control capabilities and ground based Aircraft Control Units;
- Navy’s Helicopter Frigate and Guided Missile Destroyer capabilities; and
- Army’s Ground Based Air Defence Capabilities.
The critical services to be delivered by the JATTS contract includes aerial opposing force effects, manned and unmanned targets and sophisticated electronic attack. It also introduces two new capabilities: the testing, training and certification of ADF Identification Friend or Foe Mode 5 interrogation systems; and advanced airborne threat simulations.
Consisting of over 94 per cent Australian industry contribution, JATTS secures the ongoing employment of approximately 104 direct and sub-contractor personnel, predominantly based in the Albatross Aviation Technology Park at Nowra. Nowra-based Air Affairs Australia are a major subcontractor to Raytheon Australia for the JATTS program.

University of Wollongong - Facility for Intelligent Fabrication
The University of Wollongong (UOW) is helping link Defence with industry and academia through its strong presence in Defence-related research and training and maritime security. UOW is a founding member of the Defence Materials Technology Centre (DMTC).
The Facility for Intelligent Fabrication (FIF) is a collaboration between UOW, TAFE NSW and Weld Australia. To ensure the international competitiveness of the Australian fabrication industry, the FIF was established to be a one-stop-shop where it demonstrates Industry 4.0 technologies such as robotics, smart sensors, augmented reality, machine learning and automated offline programming. The FIF also provides training and certification for the manufacturing sector.
UOW forms a critical part of the estimated $1.3 billion contract awarded to Thales Australia on automated robotic solutions for the manufacture of the Bushmaster and Hawkei land vehicles. BlueScope Steel and Bisalloy Steels also draw on the experience of UOW to work on providing steels specifically designed to suite the construction of Australia’s future maritime platforms.
